This mode is designed to create, delete and view geophotos on the map. Special camera mode is set to create geophotos. This mode contains information on the status of GPS sensor, accelerometer and compass. On the device screen this information is displayed in the following way:

  • GPS sensor status – is situated in the top left corner of the screen. “GPS searching” line is shown while searching the signal. When the current location is known, geographic coordinates such as latitude and longitude are displayed.
  • Offset – is situated in the top right corner of the screen. It shows the distance and mutual orientation between the last device status in the series of created geophotos and the current device status. Calculation accuracy depends on many different factors. If a number of satellites identifying current location is not enough, the following situation may take place: if you step a few metres away from the previous shooting position, the offset value will considerably differ from the real offset value and afterward this will influence the calculation accuracy level.
  • Orientation angles such as azimuth, pitch and roll – are situated in the bottom of the screen. If there are considerable jumps in the values of angles (more than 2 degrees) while the device stays immovable, it is highly recommended to perform accelerometer and compass calibration.
  • Square frame – is situated in the centre of the screen. The frame changes its colour and size depending on the general status of the device sensors. Red frame colour means that at this time period there is insufficient data for geophoto creation. This situation is typical when your geographic location cannot be identified. The frame size changes together with relative accuracy of sensor data. Therefore the higher is the accuracy level, the smaller is the frame size.

Using the map you can examine the position and the direction of a geophoto against the Earth surface. Also it is a good opportunity to find those geophotos that do not correspond with the reality. It is highly recommended not to use such kind of geophotos in measurements.
